WHAT THE CLIENT NEEDED:
Chilerosa’s mission is to inspire people to cook healthy Mexican food. The client wanted an uncluttered web design inspired by Mexican folk art, easy to navigate and a well-structure content management system. Every article on Chilerosa includes a story, a recipe and directions: the client asked for a way to make sure that each article would contain these key pieces of information.
WHAT I DELIVERED:
In a food blog, photos are the most important visual element. Chilerosa’s front page was designed to emphasize the client’s food photography and with visual elements that relate to Mexican art. The twelve most recent posts are organized in a mosaic style to motivate visitors to explore the site’s content. In the single recipe page, the photos appear within a slider and all parts of the recipe are easily in view. The WordPress dashboard was customized with specific boxes so that the client could add all important information to each recipe. Social media integration in the front page and interior recipe pages encourages users to like and share Chilerosa’s content to their networks. A prominent subscribe section was places across all pages of the site to invite newsletter signup.
